Afghanistan defeats Singapore 2-1 in World Cup qualifier
The Afghanistan National Football Team defeated Singapore 2-1 in a qualifier match for the World Cup among Asian countries.
The game was organized in Takhti stadium in the capital city of Tehran on Tuesday which ended in favor of Afghanistan.
Khyber Amani, 29, hit the first goal for Afghanistan during the 39th minutes of the game and the second goal was hit by Yousuf Sherdil during the 78th minutes, while Singapore players could manage a goal during the last hours of the game.
This victory comes as Japan crashed Afghanistan 5-0 last Thursday.
Thousands of Afghan refugees based in Iran praised their Afghan team during the competition.
The Afghanistan National Football Team popularly known as the Lions of Khorasan is the national football team of Afghanistan joined FIFA in 1948 and the AFC in 1954 and is controlled by the Afghanistan Football Federation.
In 2013, Afghanistan won the 2015 SAFF Championship and also earned the “FIFA Fair Play Awar”.
