The 24th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was played between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to field first against Gujarat Titans.
The Gujarat Titans scored 192 runs in the allotted 20 overs with four wickets in hand, including a quick delivery by Hardik Pandya and an unbeaten 87 off 52 balls. Abhinav Manohar (43) and David Miller (31) also scored unbeaten runs. Kuldeep Sen, Yuvendra Chahal and Ryan Pragya took 1-1 wickets for Rajasthan Royals.
In pursuit of the 193-run target, Rajasthan Royals scored 155 runs in the allotted 20 overs with nine wickets in hand and lost the match by 37 runs. For them, Jass Butler scored 54 and Shimron Heitmeyer 29 runs. Loki Ferguson and Yash Dial bowled 3-3 for Gujarat.
It was the fifth match of the Gujarat Titans, which won its fourth match and became the leading team in the ongoing EPL with 8 points, while Rajasthan Royals also played its fifth match and suffered its second defeat.
Rashid Khan needed just one wicket to complete 100 wickets in the EPL, but he did not take any.
The 25th match of EPL will be played today between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Calcutta Knight Riders.
There are Afghans in both teams, but so far they have not been given a chance in any match.
