The first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was played last night between the Gujarat Titans and the Super Giants.

The Super Giants scored 158 runs in the allotted 20 overs with six wickets in hand while the Gujarat Titans won the toss and elected to bat.
The match was played at the Wankhede Stadium in India. For the Gujarat Titans, Rahul Tewatia (3), Hardik Pandya (33), and David Miller (30) made the most runs. Mohamed Shame 3, Deepak Hooda and Colonel Pandya took 1-1 and Dushmanta Chamira took 2 wickets.
Rashid Khan, an Afghan batsman, played for the Super Giants in the tournament. In the fires, he bowled only 1 Gujarat player but lost the match.
