The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations says about 8,000 people returned from Iran last week, most of them forcibly returning. Officials at the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations said that only 1,399 people had entered the country through Nimroz yesterday, of which 1,500 had been forcibly repatriated by Iran. Also on March 20 and 21, 3303 people returned to the country, out of which 2412 people were forcibly returned. Earlier, on March 18, 1927 refugees had returned, of which about 500 were voluntary and the rest were forced to return. The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations says Iran has recently accelerated the process of forcible return of Afghan refugees. Although the returnees are said to be assisted by the International Organization for Migration, there are reports that families forcibly deported from Iran are living in dire straits.
