Over the past two days, authorities revealed that a total of 837 Afghan refugees were compelled to return to their homeland via the Torkham and Spin Boldak crossings.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, 90 families, encompassing 468 individuals, made their way back through the Torkham crossing. Additionally, 67 families, totaling 369 people, returned via the Spin Boldak crossing.
Upon their return, the repatriated families have been connected with international organizations to facilitate aid distribution. Additionally, the Islamic Emirate has extended financial assistance, providing 10,000 Afghanis to each returning family.
The Pakistani government initiated the second phase of deporting illegal refugees five days ago, contributing to the recent surge in repatriations.
