Abdul Hamid Mubariz, a distinguished journalist and former deputy minister of information and culture, has passed away at the age of 92, as announced by his family on Sunday.
His daughter, Nilab Mubariz, conveyed that his demise occurred in Kabul.
Born in 1932, Mubariz had been residing in Paris, France, since 1989, where he garnered recognition as an intellectual, journalist, and writer. Upon his return to Afghanistan from exile in 2002, he played a significant role as a freelance journalist and political analyst in Kabul.
Mubariz is survived by three children.
He notably served as the head of the Afghanistan National Journalist Union (ANJU) and as a press officer for the South Asian Journalists Association in 2007.
Additionally, in 2005, he held the position of deputy minister of information and culture.
