Security officials in Bamyan said that the factory was discovered during a search operation and its goods were confiscated. Reports said that two persons were arrested in this connection and three tonnes of raw materials for processing drugs were seized. This is the fourth drug processing plant to be discovered and seized in Bamyan in nearly a week. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan recently imposed a ban on the cultivation and trade of narcotics and warned that anyone violating the ban would face serious repercussions.
