The Islamic Emirate’s leadership has ordered a ban on poppy cultivation in Afghanistan, officials say.
Zabihullah Mujahid, Deputy Minister of Information and Culture, has issued a statement in this regard, in which Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Islamic Emirate, said that no one is allowed to grow poppy in Afghanistan anymore.
“If anyone violates this order, their poppy fields will be destroyed and they will be treated” in accordance with Islamic law, “the statement said.
The statement said: “The use, transportation, purchase, and sale of all types of narcotics such as alcohol, heroin, glass, tablets, hashish and all other narcotics across the country, trade, import and Exports, and drug factories are strictly prohibited. ”
The Islamic Emirate says that violators of this order will be prosecuted and punished by the judicial organs of their government.
It should be noted that the Islamic Emirate had banned poppy cultivation even during its first rule.
