The acting minister of education of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan says he is working on a plan to provide education to all. Sheikh Noorullah Munir said in a recent interview that they understand the value of education and can understand the need for development.
The Minister of Education also said that he was not against the education of girls in any way, but was trying to create an environment in which all could enjoy this right without any worries.
He emphasized that the country had just returned from a 40-year war and needed time to recover. Munir acknowledges that girls’ schools across Afghanistan are under pressure due to non-opening. However, he hoped that the doors of all schools would soon be opened for girls.
Sheikh Noorullah Munir’s remarks came as the education ministry had earlier announced its readiness to open girls’ schools, but said it was awaiting orders from its leadership to do so.
