“No school will be closed this year and if any school is closed, it is the responsibility of the Ministry of Education to reopen it,” he said.
But BNA reported from the Ministry of Education that the lessons of girls above 6th grade have been postponed till the second order.
“All girls’ schools and high schools above the sixth grade are informed that classes in these schools and high schools have been postponed until further notice,” the ministry said in a statement.
The Ministry of Education (MoE) has stated that the reason for the delay in the girls’ education is the preparation of a plan in accordance with Sharia and Afghan tradition and culture. The leadership should order schools and high schools to be notified again. ”
Aziz Ahmad Ryan, the Taliban’s education minister, confirmed the ministry’s announcement and told reporters that he had received the decision from the Taliban leadership’s office yesterday.
The Taliban announced the opening of schools for boys and girls up to the sixth grade after taking control of Afghanistan on August 15, 2021, but closed the schools for girls up to the sixth grade.
The Taliban’s education ministry said it was working on a comprehensive plan.
