According to some sources in Kandahar, a large Taliban gathering is underway in the province under the leadership of Taliban Amir-ul-Momineen Mullah Hibatullah.
According to sources, about 15 Taliban cabinet ministers and other senior officials have been invited to the meeting.
At the same time, the BBC quoted a number of sources as saying that Taliban Prime Minister Mullah Hassan Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Defense Minister Mullah Yaqub, Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani, Education Minister, Health Minister, The finance minister, commerce minister, mines minister, attorney general and some other Taliban officials have been in Kandahar since yesterday.
Sources in Kandahar confirmed to Khaama Press that a new Taliban chief would be appointed at the meeting. According to reports, Mullah Baradar may replace Mullah Hassan Akhund as the new Taliban prime minister and Sirajuddin Haqqani as his first deputy.
According to the source, the meeting has been going on at General Raziq’s house since yesterday.

Former National Directorate of Security (NDS) chief Rahmatullah Nabil also wrote on his Twitter account that the Taliban leaders would discuss and decide on three issues.
He wrote that the Taliban wanted to resolve their differences through the mediation of their leader Mullah Hibatullah and also wanted to make some changes in the cabinet for international legitimacy.
Mr Nabil also said that Shahabuddin Delawar, Abdul Haq Wasiq and a number of other ministers might be fired.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
Locals in Kandahar say that strict security measures have been taken in the province for the past two days.
