The commander of the Indian Army’s dagger division says he has recently seized weapons and ammunition from militants in Kashmir similar to those seen in Afghanistan.
General Ajay Chandpuria says the weapons and equipment that reached Kashmir via Pakistan were seized by Indian forces.
The Indian general added, “We have seized weapons, surveillance equipment and ammunition from militants that have not been seen before and are similar to those seen during and after the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan.”
General Chandpuria also said that in the near future not only militants but also other such weapons and ammunition would be sent to Kashmir.
The Indian general said the seizure of the weapons and ammunition suggested that Pakistan is sending Afghan militants to Indian-controlled Kashmir.
Indian forces have recently seized night-vision goggles and other military equipment used in Afghanistan.
Indian officials also say that there are between 150 and 200 teenagers in the training camps who have been brainwashed and are using only grenades and rifles and have not been trained.
According to Indian Army intelligence, between 100 and 130 militants have recently been deployed in militant training camps in the border areas of Kashmir, but did not say who the militants were.
