Norway’s foreign minister has said the country does not want to recognize the Taliban government. “The country is not considering recognizing the Taliban government,” Hoflett told a security conference in Munich.
She made the remarks after Norway invited a Taliban delegation to Oslo earlier this month to discuss a range of issues with the international community.
The Taliban’s acting foreign minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, said his visit to Nauru was “fruitful” and that he had met with the European Union, US envoys and a number of Afghans.
Norway also announced at the time that inviting a Taliban delegation did not mean recognizing the group.
