Pakistan’s parliament has said it will elect a new prime minister next Monday, following the ouster of Imran Khan. Candidates for the PM’s job can register until 2 pm today, parliament said. According to reports, new leadership will be elected to the first parliament in the morning of Monday’s session and a meeting to elect the prime minister will be held at 2 pm.
Meanwhile, ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan has convened a meeting of his party’s central committee today.
He is expected to announce his next steps after the meeting. The Central Committee of Tehreek-e-Ansab includes Shah Mahmood Qureshi, 2 Asad Umar, 1 Fawad Chaudhry, 1 Pervez Khattak, and Shafqat Mahmood among others.
