A no-confidence motion against Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan was won in the National Assembly and he was removed from office. The no-confidence motion was filed by a coalition of opposition parties on March 8 at the National Assembly headquarters.
The National Assembly convened on April 9 at 10:30 am, during which the leaders of the ruling and opposition parties addressed the gathering.
The meeting was adjourned several times and the situation remained tense till late at night. It was not clear whether the Prime Minister would attend the no-confidence motion or not. Prime Minister Imran Khan did not attend the National Assembly on April 9, despite saying he would defend his authority to the end.
