Afghanistan Election body says “foreigner engineers” have arrived Kabul to solve the technical issues in Commission’s  data server, which commission playing down by saying  isn’t very serious.

A commissioner at Independent Elections Commission (IEC) says at least two engineers belong to a tech company have arrived to Kabul for more measures.

Mohammad Haneef Danihsyar vowed the problem to be root out till Thursday evening.

EIC didn’t provide more details about the nature of the technical issues in Data Server, but some sources say, the date saved in bio-metric devices is being transferred very slowly to the main data server.

It’s unclear how serious this issue is and can cause delay the ballot process?

Maulana Mohammad Abdullah, a Commissioner of IEC, has told Tuesday (8 of October) that the technical issue could delay the preliminary announcement of results for the Presidential Elections of September 28 in Afghanistan.

Maulana Abdullah is the supporter of Abdullah Abdullah, who is chief executive and one of the candidates.

The two main candidates are the incumbent, Ashraf Ghani, and chief executive, Abdullah Abdullah, who shared power since 2014.
