The Balkh Cotton Oil Company says its production has increased. The state-owned company said in a recent report that its production had doubled this month, while its revenue had doubled.
According to the source, they have collected around 22 million afghanis in the last few months, which has now risen to 50 million afghanis. Officials at the company say the increase in revenue is due to higher yields from farmers and they are trying to expand and improve the company’s operations.
Cotton cultivation in the north of the country has a long history of producing a wide variety of products.
