Iran has reiterated that it respects Afghans. A statement issued by the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdul Haiyan had a telephone conversation with his Afghan counterpart Amir Khan Mottaki.
The talks focused on Iran’s treatment of Afghan refugees and protests against the Iranian embassy and consulate in Afghanistan.
The Iranian side has said that it currently hosts millions of Afghan refugees, treats them with respect and hopes that the people of both countries will not fall prey to foreign conspiracies. He hoped that the security of his diplomatic missions in Afghanistan would be ensured.
