Chargd’Affaires Yan McCurry of the US Embassy in Kabul said his country was still committed to providing humanitarian assistance to Afghans. “The United States strongly urges the leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to live up to its commitments to respect the human rights of all Afghans,” Jan wrote in a tweet. The United States announced an additional 200 million in aid at an international aid conference in Afghanistan on Thursday. At the World Virtual Summit, donors pledged 2.4 billion in aid to Afghanistan.
It is noteworthy that at the Geneva Conference, other countries, including the United States, pledged to provide cash to Afghanistan.
