According to media reports, officials in some cities in Iran have advised Iranians to refrain from giving jobs to Afghans and providing them with accommodation.
The Iranian government has warned that if Iranians give Afghans jobs or homes, they will be prosecuted and punished by the government.
Iranians have also been asked to indicate the whereabouts of Afghan refugees. Iran’s deputy interior minister also said that they were expelling thousands of Afghan refugees from Iran every day, adding that measures had been taken at the border to prevent the entry of thousands of Afghan refugees.
