The Badghis Civil Society Network, in coordination with the province’s sports department, held the “Fraternity and Brotherhood” festival, said officials on Saturday.
The festival was held for two days in the “Pista Laq” area of Badghis province for the purpose of unity, mutual acceptance, and empathy among all ethnic groups in the country. Residents of Badghis, residents of Herat, Farah, Ghor, Faryab, Balkh, Kandahar, and some other provinces also took part in the celebration and attended sports performances and entertainment programs by the organizers.
The organizers of the festival said that this is the first time such a big festival has been launched in Badghis since the Islamic Emirate took charge.
“We wanted to show that we are all Afghans and brothers and no one can separate us,” said Arbab Shaykh al-Islami, head of the Badghis Civil Society Network and one of the organizers of the festival. “We celebrated today in Badghis province for unity and brotherhood.”
Meanwhile, a number of young people from different provinces of the country who have participated in the festival said that they can visit different parts of the country with peace of mind. They also emphasized that brotherhood and tolerance among all ethnic groups in the country and called on all citizens to avoid any linguistic, racial, and ethnic differences and to live in peace.
