Ali Wazir, the North Waziristan MP, was pictured on the bench during a vote of confidence in Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Pakistan National Assembly yesterday. Ali Wazir has been lodged in Karachi Jail for the last one and a half years. In the past, during some important sessions of the National Assembly, Ali Wazir was allowed to move from prison to the parliament building in the capital Islamabad to use his vote. The Pashtun Salvation Movement and Ali Wazir’s supporters allege that he was imprisoned in a fake case and should be brought to justice.
Ghali Wazir, a leading member of the Pashtun Salvation Movement and a member of the National Assembly, has been detained by the Pakistani government for months.
Thousands of supporters of the Pashtun Salvation Movement have repeatedly protested against his release, but have not been able to do so.
