The Pashtun Salvation Movement has staged a protest in Bannu demanding the release of its comrades and called on the courts to do justice.
PTM supporters staged a protest in the city of Bannu on March 6 and then marched in front of the Press Club. The movement’s leader, Manzoor Pashtun, told the crowd that the lawsuits against their comrades were baseless. “Some people have been told that if you leave in writing, you will have to end your relationship with Manzoor Pashtun. The cases against him will be dropped. The judges of the courts need to make decisions on the basis of truth,” he said.
Sohrab Ghot police say they are trying to arrest the accused in the case but have not made any arrests so far.
He demanded that Hanif Pashtun, Ali Wazir, Owais Abdal and other arrested persons be released immediately. The men have been in custody for more than a year on charges of inciting people to revolt against the state. However, their lawyers denied the allegations.
The government’s latest stance on the issue has not been made public, but some officials from the ruling Tehreek-e-Insaf party have told the media that the courts are independent and would welcome any decision.
The Pashtun Salvation Movement also marched in front of the Sindh Assembly from February 13 to March 8 to demand the release of Ali Wazir and other imprisoned members of the movement.

After several days of negotiations between the Sindh government and the PTM, the two sides reached an agreement late on the night of March 6. A day later, Sindh government spokesman Murtaza Wahab and energy minister Imtiaz Sheikh said they had held talks with the PTM under the guidance of ruling People’s Party leader Bilawal Bhutto and promised to fully implement the agreement.
PTM leader Manzoor Pashtun announced in a speech to reporters on the night of March 8 that an agreement had been signed between the Sindh government and the PTM to release Ali Wazir and the movement to the provincial government. Other requests have a month to meet. “Our lawyers talked to the Sindh government about all our demands. Almost all of them agreed with us, but on the condition that the terms of the agreement would not be revealed so that no one would point fingers at me again.” ”
Pashtun added that according to the agreement, no cases would be registered against PTM members in Sindh, adding that the police would not arrest them in previous cases and would not raid their homes. He added that if the agreement was not implemented within a month, he would make new decisions.
