The Acting Minister of Higher Education of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Abdul Baqi Haqqani, met on Wednesday, March 9, with Tariq Ali Bakhtiar, Special Representative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for Afghanistan.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation in the field of higher education in the country.
Haqqani called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to facilitate religious and modern education at the International University of Afghanistan, to accelerate the construction of an Islamic university in Nangarhar, and to arrange transportation for the transfer of female faculty and students from central and provincial universities. , To establish special universities for women in the provinces, to provide scholarships for Afghan students in Islamic countries, as well as to equip libraries in the country’s educational institutions.
At the same time, OIC Representative for Afghanistan Tariq Ali Bakhtiar praised the leadership activities of the Ministry of Higher Education and said that the proposals would be shared with the OIC officials and efforts would be made to attract assistance.
