World Bank has announced one billion dollar in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan from its frozen assets.
In a statement Bank said the amount to be delivered in shape of grant aims to support the delivery of essential basic services to protect vulnerable Afghans, help preserve human capital and key economic and social services, and reduce the need for humanitarian assistance in the future.
The statement added the funds were also aimed at supporting key economic and social services and reducing the need for humanitarian assistance in the future.
Approved by the World Bank’s Executive Board on Tuesday, the aid will be spent to finance education, agriculture, health and family programmers.
