Haider, a child who fell into a well in Zabul province, died after being pulled out, Taliban officials say.
Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Taliban government, also wrote on his Twitter account on Friday, February 18, that Haider had died after being pulled from a well.
He added: “According to the latest reports, Haider, a child who fell into a well in Zabul, died after being pulled out of the well.”
Meanwhile, Zabul’s director of information and culture, Sharafat Wyar, said on Friday that rescue teams had recovered the body of a child named Haider from a well this morning.
He added: “A child had fallen into a well in Zabul province a few days ago. Today we found his body, but unfortunately he lost his life.”
Haider, a seven-year-old boy, fell into a Burmese well in the Jaldak area of Zabul province three days ago.
The rescue operation was launched in the last two days. Which lasted about 60 hours, according to officials.
