A number of Afghans deported from Kabul to the UK have not yet been issued new legal documents and there are growing fears that they may be treated as illegal immigrants.
The exact number of Afghans who do not have the latest documents to rent a house or obtain a legal work permit is unknown, lawyers say.
Experts say that while their temporary visas expire in the short term, they have not heard anything about their fate.
The UK Home Office says there is no need for such talks and the jokes are frightening.
It is worth mentioning that in August last year, 15000 people who were transferred from Afghanistan to the United Kingdom were given six-month visas with the intention of obtaining permanent residency documents.
That commitment under the resettlement program is still in place.
But on the other hand, the country’s bar association says it has received applications from a number of Afghans whose visas expire next week and they will not be able to prove that they are legal in the country. The side is allowed to stay.
In the petitions, Afghans said they had not yet received the latest documents or were awaiting a response from British officials.
