Haji Salaam, former secretary to Hizb-e-Islami leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, was assassinated in Pakistan’s Peshawar city on Tuesday.
Haji Salaam was praying when a number of unknown gunmen opened fire at him.
He was also a close relative to Hekmatyar.
Till now, no militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
This is not the first time a member of the anti-government armed group or those who have joined peace has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Pakistan.
