A number of disabled people in Kabul have complained that their salaries have not been paid since the Islamic Emirate came to power and they are facing many economic problems.
Parveen, who lost both her legs in the blast, says she gets a negative response every time she goes to the Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled.
“I have been approaching the Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled for my salary for eight months now. They are telling me to register. When I see the photos and documents, I am told to wait until the next order, because there is no budget,” she said.
Meanwhile, another disabled person, Samad, says he has no other bread winner at home. He called on the Islamic Emirate to give them their rights and privileges on time.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled (MoLSAMD) has said that the reason for non-payment of salaries to people with disabilities is the presence of forged documents in their documents.
Qari Shah Mohammad Dost, director of the ministry’s office, said that in the previous government, those who did not deserve it had received their salaries through fraud.
People with disabilities have been complaining for years that their salaries are not paid on time. Now with the rising level of poverty in the country, people with disabilities are facing many problems.
