In the Nasarano area of Kandahar’s Khakrez district, 42 people were poisoned after eating the first milk of a freshly milked cow.
A spokesman for the Islamic Emarate governor in Kandahar, Maulvi Mahmood Azzam, told the media on Sunday that one of the poisoned women had died and four others were in a coma.
According to Azam, 12 women and some children were among the victims.
According to the village tradition, when a cow is milked in the village, the villagers invite other people over the milk and distribute the milk to the houses.
