The Balochistan government has closed educational institutions in the capital Quetta for two days for fear of possible terrorist attacks.
A statement issued by the Balochistan Ministry of Interior (MoI) on March 15 stated that there were threats of attacks by the Baloch Liberation Army (Majid Brigade) in various parts of the city. And on the 18th, all public and private schools, colleges, and universities in Quetta are closed. Therefore, the ninth and tenth class examinations have been postponed on certain dates.

Sadia Farooqi, deputy chairwoman of the Balochistan Examination Board, said examinations in other parts of the province, apart from Quetta, would continue as usual and would announce a date for the resumption of examinations in Quetta.
Police and border guards have been stepped up at the Civil Secretariat, railway station, bazaars, and other key locations in Quetta following the blasts. A statement issued by the interior ministry said the Quetta commissioner, deputy commissioner, and police had been asked to take strict security measures at the entrances and exits of the city. Meanwhile, the Young Doctors’ Union has postponed its March 17 protest.
A statement issued by the Young Doctors’ Union on March 6 called on doctors and paramedics to take care of their own safety and that a new date for the protest is announced later.
