Local Taliban officials in Nangarhar say they have stopped the smuggling of 41 pieces of historical and cultural artifacts.
The Taliban’s provincial administration said on Wednesday that security forces had stopped the smuggling of 41 artifacts and handed them over to the Department of Information and Culture.
According to Qari Noor Mohammad Hanif, the Taliban’s director of information and culture in Nangarhar, the artifacts include a pair of antique jewelry made of gold, silver and other metals, metal spears, necklaces made of marble and various other artifacts.
Earlier, there were reports of smuggling of antiquities in Nangarhar.
