Recently, the Ministry of Information and Culture in Afghanistan made a significant archaeological discovery in the district of Khak Jabar in Kabul. Archaeologists uncovered three historic sites that are believed to date back to the Kushan era, specifically the 1st to 5th centuries.
During preliminary excavations, several relics were found, including a stupa (a Buddhist shrine), fragments of pottery, historical towers, and a wall. These findings indicate the existence of a city at these locations, buried deep within the earth.
The archaeological team plans to list these historic sites and continue their explorations to uncover more artifacts and historical information. The Ministry of Information and Culture recognizes the importance of preserving Afghanistan’s historical monuments and sites, referring to them as the country’s spiritual treasures. They have expressed their commitment to protect and restore these sites, emphasizing their significance for the nation’s cultural heritage.
