In a bid to devalue the US dollar against Afghani (local currency) and/or to stabilize Afghani, Afghanistan’s Central Bank-Da Afghanistan Bank- intends to pump $12 million on Thursday, March 17, 2022.
Da Afghanistan Bank has asked eligible monetary firms and money exchangers to take part in the auction.
The last time De Afghanistan Bank auctioned the US dollar was March the 6th. It was an auction of $14 million.
The bank has recently increased its auction of dollars into the monetary market of Afghanistan which has led to the devaluation of US dollars against Afghani.
For the same purpose, the United Nations has been delivering to Afghanistan dollars in cash for the past several and has so far sent nearly $500 million to Afghanistan’s International Bank (AIB).
