According to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), every two hours a pregnant woman in Afghanistan dies as a result of childbirth or the ill effects of pregnancy.
The foundation said the current crisis in Afghanistan has further complicated the situation.
One in two women in Afghanistan faces sexual violence, they said in a report released today.
The fund said it needed about 25 252 million to rehabilitate Afghanistan’s healthcare system and reach more than 9 million people.
