Hundreds of Afghans, who were deported to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the wake of the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, returned home on Saturday.
Afghans in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) say they have spent more than six months in Abu Dhabi waiting to be deported to the West, but say that did not happen and now they are forced to return to Afghanistan.
On August 15 last year, when the Taliban entered Kabul, a large number of Afghans, including women and children, had arrived at Kabul airport and wanted to travel to other countries to save their lives without any travel documents.
Some of these Afghans were killed after their planes crashed into the wings of planes and crashed after taking off, but others managed to escape to various European and Arab countries.
Many Afghans, including Abu Dhabi, have arrived in the United Arab Emirates, where they have spent the night waiting to leave for European countries.
One of the Afghans in the Abu Dhabi camp, Sahar Husseini, told IWPR that Afghans, including women and children, had to wait more than six months to be deported to the West, but that did not happen. So now they are forced to return to Afghanistan.
Sahar Hussaini added that Afghans had started protesting after February 13, but neither the United States nor other countries had helped them.
He also said that during the Taliban’s rule in Afghanistan, many Afghans who were brought to the UAE had travel documents, but some of them did not have travel documents and were brought here without passports. Was done.
About 40,000 Afghans were deported to Abi Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, after the fall of the Taliban in Afghanistan.
