The Taliban government in Afghanistan has released Nadeema Noor from jail, popularly known on social media as Battingara Kaki.
Nadeema Noor has a page on Facebook, YouTube and Tactic called “Tisha De Wa Ade” and from there she has posted videos on women’s rights through a comedian named Battingara Kaki. Ms. Noor is a Canadian citizen but is predominantly Afghan and from Khost province. She also recently distributed food to help Afghans.
Nadima Noor’s brother, Dastan Noor, told to journalists on March 9 that the Taliban had not yet shown her the reason for her arrest, but said “the good thing is that she was released 23 days later.”
