ALTS based in Prague, Czech Republic is looking for highly qualified, motivated and experienced translators who have experience of English<>Dari translation in the field of media and are familiar to political terms.
The applicants must:
- be native or near native of Dari language.
- translate news and reports from English into Dari and vis versa.
- have experience of work with media including radio, tv or print journalism.
- work from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Kabul time. The times can vary by an hour on demand.
- arrange his/her own computer and regular internet connection.
- work independently without relying on any supervisor for interpretation of certain terms in the translation.
- translate from 1,000 (plus/minus) to 2,000 (plus/minus) words on daily bases starting from Monday to Friday.
- be able to work on Saturday or Sunday, on demand.
- work as per the deadlines. Translation of the news/reports will need to be completed in certain hours/minutes. For example, a 900 words’ report will need to be completed inside an hour.
- be able to communicate in Pashto language.
