{"id":5444,"date":"2025-11-22T19:39:27","date_gmt":"2025-11-22T19:39:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/taand.net\/en\/?p=5444"},"modified":"2025-11-22T19:40:27","modified_gmt":"2025-11-22T19:40:27","slug":"afghanistan-india-trade-reaches-525-million-air-cargo-corridors-reopened","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/taand.net\/en\/?p=5444","title":{"rendered":"Afghanistan\u2013India Trade Reaches $525 Million; Air-Cargo Corridors Reopened"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"151\" data-end=\"343\">Afghanistan\u2019s Ministry of Industry and Commerce has announced that bilateral trade between Afghanistan and India reached $525 million over the past seven months of the current fiscal year.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"345\" data-end=\"477\">According to the ministry\u2019s data, $379 million of this total consists of Afghan exports, the majority of which are dried fruits.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"479\" data-end=\"829\">The ministry\u2019s spokesperson, Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, said Afghanistan\u2019s key exports to India include:<br data-start=\"586\" data-end=\"589\" \/>dried figs, saffron, asafoetida and its seeds, raisins, green cumin, pistachios, and almonds.<br data-start=\"686\" data-end=\"689\" \/>Imports from India include:<br data-start=\"716\" data-end=\"719\" \/>medicine, industrial raw materials, cotton textiles, auto parts, machinery, and various types of garments.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"831\" data-end=\"962\">Meanwhile, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has announced the resumption of air-cargo flights between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"964\" data-end=\"1145\">Economic experts say air-cargo corridors can serve as a suitable alternative to the Wagah land route and can play an important role in expanding trade between Afghanistan and India.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1147\" data-end=\"1445\">Khanjan Alkozi, a former board member of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, stated:<br data-start=\"1235\" data-end=\"1238\" \/>\u201cAir cargo is a very good alternative, but pricing support is necessary so traders are not disadvantaged. Tax-related issues also need attention.
