{"id":5009,"date":"2023-05-18T09:44:19","date_gmt":"2023-05-18T09:44:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/taand.net\/en\/?p=5009"},"modified":"2023-05-18T09:44:19","modified_gmt":"2023-05-18T09:44:19","slug":"iranian-rulers-warns-afghan-taliban-about-water-rights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/taand.net\/en\/?p=5009","title":{"rendered":"Iranian rulers warns Afghan Taliban about water rights"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Afghanistan and Iran Foreign minsters on Thursday discussed over the phone the long-running water dispute, according to the Afghan Foreign Ministry.<\/p>\n<p>During the conversation between the Taliban administration&#8217;s acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian discussed various issues, the ministry said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;During this phone call, the foreign ministers of the two countries discussed and exchanged views on issues of interest between the two countries and on the expansion of cooperation in various fields, especially trade, electric energy, railways,&#8221; Hafiz Zia Ahmad, the deputy spokesman of the Afghan Foreign Ministry, tweeted.<\/p>\n<p>Ahmad added that Muttaqi described the problems of water scarcity and a decrease in rainfall in the western regions of the country, stressing his country&#8217;s official position under the existing bilateral agreement.<\/p>\n<header id=\"mvp-post-head\" class=\"left relative\"><\/header>\n<div class=\"mvp-post-main-out left relative\">\n<div class=\"mvp-post-main-in\">\n<div id=\"mvp-post-content\" class=\"left relative\">\n<div id=\"mvp-content-wrap\" class=\"left relative\">\n<div class=\"mvp-post-soc-out right relative\">\n<div class=\"mvp-post-soc-in\">\n<div id=\"mvp-content-body\" class=\"left relative\">\n<div id=\"mvp-content-body-top\" class=\"left relative\">\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\" class=\"left relative\">\n<p><strong>Meanwhile, <\/strong>Iran\u2019s Tasnim news agency has published a video in which Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said during his visit to Sistan and Baluchistan that the rulers of Afghanistan should give the people of Sistan and Baluchistan the water they are entitled to.<\/p>\n<p>Raisi says: \u201cI warn the rulers of Afghanistan to give the people of Sistan and Baluchistan the right to water.
