The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) says that Faizanullah Naseri, head of the ministry’s second political department, met with officials at the Iranian embassy in Kabul today to discuss the country’s border guards’ mistreatment of Afghan refugees in Iran. Has shared his concern. According to the ministry, the foreign ministry has shared the concerns and sentiments of the Afghan government and people with the Iranian side in order to convey them to its senior officials. The source added that the meeting also stressed the need to prevent actions that could cause harm to both countries and nations.
\nIt is to be noted that several videos have been circulating in the media recently, in which Iranian officials and their citizens are harassing Afghan refugees and creating problems for them.
\nMeanwhile, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations says more than 19,000 Afghan refugees have returned from Iran this month. In the second week of March alone, 14,481 refugees returned to the country through the port of Islam Qala in Herat, of which 4,862 came to Afghanistan voluntarily and the rest voluntarily, ministry officials said. The returnees are said to include women and children. Meanwhile, last Tuesday alone, 4,896 people returned to Afghanistan via Nimroz, of which 4,399 were forcibly deported from Iran. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) recently said that some 5,000 people had fled to Iran last year due to severe economic problems in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
