At a meeting in Brussels, leaders of the AtlTreaty Organization (NATO) called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the ongoing war in Ukraine and withdraw its forces from the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

They also called on Belarus to suspend its cooperation with Russia in the invasion of Ukraine. NATO leaders made the call a month after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
\nNATO leaders have praised the Ukrainian people, saying “their courageous resistance to Russia’s brutal war has inspired the world.”
\nThey also decided at the summit to strengthen the resistance of their communities and infrastructure against Russian influence. Meanwhile, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said at the end of a meeting of NATO leaders that he was “concerned” about Russia’s possible use of chemical weapons in Ukraine.
\nHe says Moscow accuses Ukraine and its allies of trying to prepare for a chemical weapons attack, but says it could be a pretext for Russia to use such weapons.
\nMr Stoltenberg said a chemical weapons attack would completely change the nature of the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

He called the chemical weapons “extremely dangerous” and in violation of international law. But NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has accused Russia of using chemical weapons. NATO leaders also agreed at the Brussels summit to strengthen defenses in the alliance’s eastern members Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania in response to Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
\nThey said 40,000 troops would be deployed in those countries.

\nFollowing the NATO summit in Brussels, the G-7 summit began.
\nAfter that, a meeting of EU leaders is scheduled to take place.

\nHe made the request in English for the first time in a video message shortly after noon local time.
\nHe said Russia was not only fighting against Ukraine, but also against the freedom of all human beings.
\nMr Zelensky called on the international community to stop using force against Russia.
\n“Come out of your offices, come out of your homes, come out of schools and universities, come out in the name of peace, come out in support of Ukraine, come out in support of independence, come out in support of life,” he said. ”<\/p>\n
