According to a VOA report, the decision to raise funds to help Afghans was taken at an emergency meeting of the OEC in Islamabad in December last year.
\nThe Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the International Criminal Court (ICC) on Monday inaugurated a fund for humanitarian and economic assistance in Afghanistan.
\nIslami opened the relief fund at a time when millions of people in Afghanistan are facing poverty and hunger.<\/p>\n

The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) have ratified the Afghanistan Humanitarian Trust Fund (PHF) at a ceremony in Islamabad.
\nFollowing the signing of the Charter, OEC Secretary General Hussein Ibrahim Taha said in a statement that Afghans were facing “very difficult times” following the change of government in Kabul, following the fall of the Taliban.<\/p>\n

The two sides also discussed issues of mutual interest and various topics of concern to the Muslim world, including the situation in #Afghanistan<\/a>.
