Three-day “Pashtun National Jirga” hosted by the National People’s Party begins today in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
\nSeats have been reserved for about 1,000 people in the hall for the Jirga, which begins on March 11 in Mirakhel, Bannu.<\/p>\n
Mahmood Khan Achakzai, leader of the Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party, told Mashal Radio on March 7 that the Jirga was attended by Pashtun nationalist and religious political parties, writers, teachers, scholars, professionals, tribal elders, religious scholars and women. Has invited<\/p>\n
The Jirga’s invitation letter said that the meeting will discuss insecurity in the Pashtun areas, unemployment of the people and control over the resources and urged the participants to use their knowledge and wisdom in this Jirga. “Share and evaluate ways to implement decisions.”<\/p>\n
Achakzai added that the agenda and power of the Pashtun National Jirga in Bannu would be for the participants, not the party.<\/p>\n
