Russia’s envoy to the European Union told the BBC his country believed there were now diplomatic ways to reduce tensions over Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Russia’s ambassador to Russia, Vladimir Chezhkov, said his country had no plans to attack anyone, but warned that Russia should not be provoked to change its mind.<\/p>\n
Mr Chiskov did not say whether Russia was withdrawing most of its troops from the Ukrainian border, but asked why no one was paying attention to the Ukrainian troops facing Russia.<\/p>\n
“We firmly believe that there is still room for diplomacy,” he told the BBC’s Katia Adler in Europe.”<\/p>\n
His remarks come after two days of extensive diplomatic efforts.<\/p>\n
Russia has repeatedly denied plans to invade Ukraine.<\/p>\n
But a number of Western nations, including the United States, have said that Russia may soon launch a military strike on Ukraine, after 100 Russian troops joined forces on the border with Ukraine.<\/p>\n
After two days of extensive diplomatic efforts, led by French President Emmanuel Macron, some suggestions have been made that there may be increased focus on the Minsk agreement, which seeks to reduce tensions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
