A prominent Afghan lawmaker and 2 other were killed and 11 people wounded in a bomb attack in Kabul on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Eye witnesses at the blast scene said that the MP and two other civilians died before getting to hospital.<\/p>\n
“A member of Afghanistan parliament Shir Wali Wardak martyred as a result of an explosion in Kabul this evening,” spokesman Sediq Sediqqi tweeted.<\/p>\n
The device, hidden in a electrical box attached to a wall exploded as Shir Wali Wardak left his house, ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqqi said.<\/p>\n
The blast occurred near Wardak’s house in Qambar Square, west of Kabul.<\/p>\n
An investigation was launched into the bombing and more information will be released later, Sediqqi said.<\/p>\n
Eleven people, including security force members, were wounded by the blast, unofficial sources said.<\/p>\n
Security forces cordoned off the area shortly after the blast, keeping people from gathering at the scene for fears that there might be a second blast.<\/p>\n
Wardak’s brother, Farooq Wardak, is Afghanistan’s former minister of education.<\/p>\n
