\nKabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani attended Amir Ali Shir Nawayee International Symposium, held yesterday on the occasion of 575th birth anniversary of Nawayee.
\nIn a ceremony held on this occasion at presidential palace with participation of first and second vice presidents Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum and Sarwar Danesh and a number of government high-ranking officials, the country\u2019s President said, \u201cI am happy that we gathered today to introduce efforts, books and thoughts of great personality of Afghanistan and the region and commemorate a figure honored not only by Afghanistan and but also the whole region.
\n\u201cNawayee belongs not only to us but also to the whole world\u201d, President Ghani stressed, adding that Amir Ali Shir Nawayee had obtained the top position in the history of Afghanistan and as a writer, poet, political and great figure did much for humanity.
\nMohammad Ashraf Ghani said that Amir Ali Shir Nawayee had similar position like Khushal Khattak in Uzbeki-Turkish literature in modern history.
\nThe country\u2019s President further asserted Turkish-Uzbeki literature was important as Dari and Pashto literature, saying that although Turkish-Uzbeki literature was not that much identified and was forgotten for some times, but the literature would never be forgotten anymore.
\n\u201cSomeone like Amir Ali Shir Nawayee have left books and treasury of knowledge behind and also their life, works and role are like valuable book by reading of which we can find good points\u201d, President Ghani said.
\nThe country\u2019s President said, \u201cWe know that of the period of Amir Ali Shir Nawayee was one of our country and the region\u2019s bright periods called sometimes as Renaissance of the East.\u201d
\nMohammad Ashraf Ghani added their main goal in government was to establish a fair system too in order to fulfill justified demands of Nawayee.
\nConsidering commemoration of academic and cultural figures\u2019 position as marking the greatness of the country\u2019s civilization, President Ghani said they needed to go back to their great culture and first and past civilization. To honor the great personality of Nawayee, I declare today that the government of Afghanistan will mint a special medal of honor by the name of Amir Ali Shir Nawayee and his portrait will be stuck beside other great leaders in Salam Khana palace, President Ghani added. In the ceremony, first vice president Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum also spoke and praised the country\u2019s president for marking the great personality of Amir Ali Shir Nawayee and considered Nawayee\u2019s personality as great honor for all the people of Afghanistan in particular Turk tribes. Meanwhile, knowledgeable figures invited from various regional countries to the ceremony also spoke in connection with personality of Amir Ali Shir Nawayee. According to another report, the country\u2019s chief executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah in a message considered Amir Ali Shir Nawayee as great personality of this land.
